James Hoak is a spunky college student that tells it like it is, which is exactly what he did when he interviewed for the sports writer internship, an internship that could lead to a job.In a bike chase, Hoak manages to lose $8,000 and injures the star football player. Great. He needed that money to pay for his tuition. If he can’t go to school, he wouldn’t graduate. If he didn’t graduate, no internship. No internship, no dream job. What was he going to do? He had a month to come up with the money. Interesting dilemma.Story had a candid writing with reels that one would hear from an actual sports writer. You don’t always understand his humor, but it had good dialogue and that spunkiness is carried out throughout the whole thing.A pretty good read.
